ANNOUNCEMENT I have 3 new art galleries representing my work. Nohea art Gallery, Honolulu, Gallery at Bamboo, North Shore. Big Island and Desert Legacy, Tucson. My art has been described as 3-D, wall sculpture,mixed media or assemblages. Sculpting a piece is very satisfying for me and as much as I enjoy that part, they don`t really come to life until I paint them with acrylics or oils. I love the combination of two forms of art.The interlocking shapes, high energy, dimension,light and shadow all work together.
My most recent passion is a series of tropical fish and sea turtles inspired by my recent stay on Molokai. I feel so blessed to have observed the brilliant tropical fish and the serene Hawaiian green sea turtles as well as other sea life in the ocean habitat. We have recently relocated to Florida. On my early morning walks I often see the sea turtle tracks where they have come up to lay their eggs during the night. I hope to observe the hatchlings emerge in the near future. This may inspire a whole new series! Well I did get to see the hatchlings and have a story about rescuing 2 little ones on my newsletter!
